Access Our Electronic Resources from Off-Campus: Home

Below is an explanation of how our off-campus authentication works and screenshots of how to sign into to a library session when you are off campus. Finally there is a video that explains the log-in screen.

Explanation

You need to “proxy” in (aka authenticate/prove your affiliation with FIU) to use our licensed and subscription-based resources. Many libraries, including ours, use a technology called “EZ-Proxy”.

Screenshot Instructions

Step 1. Go to medlib.fiu.edu and click "Off-Campus Access."

Step 2. Log in with your AD account and password.  You also have the option (on the right-hand side) to log in using your FIU OneCard (if you have or acquired one).

Step 3. You may be redirected to the FIU Main Libraries website.  If so, just scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Medical Library to get back.

Step 4. You will now see an EZ-Proxy code has been prefixed to the URL when you visit the Medical Library website.  This will only last as long as you keep your browser open.  You must do this again every time you restart your browser.

Video Instructions

You can watch a quick video, Remote Access to Library Databases (2:14).
