RefWorks: Citation

What is a Citation Manager?

A citation manager is a computer software that allows you to collect, organize, and edit a large number of bibliographic ciations for a research paper. These are called 'references' and appear in the footnotes or endnotes of a book or a research article.

Once you have citaitons gathered in a citaiton manager, whether it is Refworks, Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote, the citation manager automates the process of creating a bibliogrphy in any given citaiton style.

Florida International University offers Refworks, a web-based citation manager, for its students and faculty.

But there are many free citation managers that you may use for the same purpose. You will find more information about Refworks and other citation managers in this guide.
