Get a OneCard (Optional)
If you are an FIU affiliated clinical faculty member or are a medical resident at an FIU affiliated medical site, getting a OneCard will grant you a 14-digit barcode that allows you to physically access the library, check out books, and make interlibrary loan requests. If you do not get a OneCard, you can still contact the Medical Library and request these services, but they may take longer to fulfill.
You can read more about applying for this photo ID card by visiting the OneCard Website. (Info about card types for Alumni and Affiliates appears when you scroll down and look on the right-hand side of the page).
In order to get a OneCard, you must first visit the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine's Human Resources Office on the 6th floor of the Academic Health Center 2 (aka AHC 2). Ask for a permission slip that someone at the office can sign off on. You must bring this signed slip and another form of photo identification to OneCard Office so that they can look you up in the system, confirm your eligibility for a OneCard and confirm your identity before taking your picture and issuing the ID.
